ROSA

Get help from an anxiety and OCD therapist who uses humor and compassion.

Hi, I’m Rosa!

As someone who experiences anxiety and also wants to enjoy life to the fullest, learning to manage anxiety and use skills has encouraged me to live according to my own values and goals.

As a therapist, I use humor to create a space where you can feel supported and safe to be vulnerable during treatment. We are working together to figure out what works best to suit your needs one step at a time. Life can get chaotic and messy, especially while struggling with OCD and anxiety. During our time together, we are learning how to navigate the uncertainty and feel empowered to take on life’s challenges. Working together means we’re creating a life worth living- aligning with your own values and goals. We achieve those goals together by creating a plan, highlighting your strengths and growing with learned skills.

In my work with young adults making new life changing decisions while trying to balance anxiety and OCD:

Starting a new life as an adult is already challenging with new decisions, responsibilities, goals and activities. Then add in how debilitating OCD and anxiety can be, it is overwhelming. Thoughts swirl through your mind, making it difficult to feel confident in the decisions you make or how to spend your time. Plus, OCD/anxiety can make it feel impossible to make any decisions based on what you actually want because intrusive thoughts and anxious feelings end up dictating how you spend your time, even when you really try to fight it.

In working together, my main goal is to work towards you feeling empowered to face those decisions and time spent with a new set of tools- based in your values. OCD and anxiety no longer drive how you spend your time.

OCD and anxiety can leave us feeling so critical of ourselves, expecting perfection, and overwhelmed with agonizing thoughts that make it difficult to even know who we are. I am here to help change that. I want you confident in kicking OCD and anxiety to the curb, removing the judgment you feel about yourself, and knowing exactly who you are and what you want from life. Let’s get you there, together.

In my work with teenagers struggling with anxiety and OCD:

Between school, parents, and friends, life can already be hard to figure out. Adding OCD and anxiety makes the challenges even harder.

Maybe for you, OCD is getting in your way because it is forcing you to spend hours a day on homework, be a ‘good’ person to the point where you overthink everything you say and do, spend hours a day in the bathroom showering or washing your hands, worry that you are capable of harming people you love and do any and all compulsions to make sure you don’t, etc. If I didn’t list how OCD affects you here, I promise I’ve heard it before too.

Maybe for you, social anxiety is getting in the way of you making or hanging out with friends, participating in presentations or group projects at school, or trying out for the sport you admire. Maybe anxiety leads to daily panic attacks daily or persistent worry about your future.

In our work together, I help you learn about and believe in your strengths, which will help you feel ready to face your fears. I create a space where you feel comfortable working at your own pace to feel encouraged in overcoming difficult thoughts and emotions. You are the expert on your experiences, and I am here to provide tools to get you where you want to be.

In my work with over functioning women who are struggling with anxiety trying to manage different roles in their life to be successful:

Living with OCD can muddle parts of life while trying to navigate how to be the best in our roles. Fear from OCD can cloud our lens in areas where we usually excel and find joy in. Together we are learning new skills to empower ourselves to take on challenges while finding joy in our everyday moments.

Maybe you’re noticing losing some parts of yourself and figuring out how to get to a place where you feel content. It’s hard for you to get a break from the loud thoughts. Together, we will take a journey (no judgment here) to seek relief and gain confidence in challenging your OCD and anxiety. Please hear me when I say that OCD and anxiety can be a small, whisper in your mind, where you barely notice it anymore and feel confident saying no to OCD/anxiety and yes to you. I am here to be your guide to validate your experiences and cheer on your best self.
